For left to right: johnny, erin, and jordan!
now on to the anoles, I have 3 male anoles. I didn't name them because they all look alike! This type of lizard can be very hard to make happy sometimes. ok.... If the tail falls off don't worry it will grow back. :) one of my anoles got its tail stuck and it fell off. when the tail falls off there will be a tiny drop of blood on the end of (what left of its tail)his/her tail. the anole will most likely go under a rock,(if you have one in your tank)Because it is scared. After about a week the scab will fall off and you will just start to see the tail growing back. And after the tail has fallen off,the tail will move around a little. don't freak out,it is natural for the tail to move around, because it is suppose to distract the predator so the anole can get away. every lizards tail falls off if you grab it or it gets stuck. so DON'T grab a lizards tail. On to the feeding! since I have never had baby anoles, I don't know how much or what to feed baby anoles. But, I have read some people's suggestions. They say that for the first few days he will be living off of the egg nutrients. They will start to feed after about 3 days. Fruit flies usually are good but some just have different tastes. If he wont eat the flightless fruit flies then try buying some "pinhead" or hatchling crickets these are tiny as well and can be found at most pet stores carrying crickets. Remember to look at them before buying them they should be no bigger then the space between his little eye balls. When they get bigger like my anoles they will eat 1-3 crickets (or bug of your choice) every-other day. I have had my anoles for a few months and they have shedded only twice. While they are shedding don't mess with them. I think thats all! :)
on to the chinese water dragon! I got the chinese water dragon a few months ago. I feed him(I am 95% sure he is a boy)4-6 crickets a day. Since he is growing I make sure he has plenty. Since mine has yet to be an adult, I don't know what to feed water dragons when they are older. but I have that you should feed an adult water dragon every 2-3 days. And you should feed them king mealworms, pinkies, fuzzies, adult jumbo or super crickets, grasshoppers, and locusts. and about the shedding and growing. My chinese water dragon has shedded twice that I have seen. When I got him 2-3 months ago he was 7 1/2 inches long and now he is 9 inches long. the water will grow to full size in 18 to 24 months. my water dragons approx. birthdate was about 4 months ago. I think that is all I can think of for now!! :)
Hello, I love what you're doing with your own blog. I am Jonathon's mom and he told me to check this out. Keep up the good work!
ReplyDeleteThank-you!!! I was wanting people to get good use out of what I know about animals! I am thinking of doing more on birds and other animals! I spend most of my time doing school, helping mom with little ones, and learning more and more about animals.
